The B# Ecosystem is built on a foundation of mutual respect, requiring all individuals and organisations using B#s (Bluenumbers) to honour each other’s rights. Our secure infrastructure is governed by the principles of consent and reciprocity—every B# holder has full transparency into what information another B# knows about them, and vice versa.

All data transactions within the B# Ecosystem occur exclusively between verified B# holders, ensuring privacy and security. Each transaction is conducted under clearly agreed-upon terms, whether the data is used as a claim, as evidence, or for other authorised purposes, and always involves fair consideration.

These real-world use cases demonstrate how the B# Ecosystem supports regulatory compliance, empowers individuals to increase their income, and enables the creation of valuable data assets. By prioritising data rights and transparency, B# sets a new standard for ethical data exchange and sustainable digital collaboration.

Our Case Studies

Direct Worker Voice for HRDD
Electronics Sector Case Study

A 70% worker participation rate, over 150,000 data points, and audit conformance claims contradicted across every Labour and Health & Safety category. This peer-reviewed case study, commissioned by GIZ's Initiative for Global Solidarity, deployed MillionMakers™ across two electronics factories in southern India, comparing direct worker voice data against a conventional industry-standard audit.

The findings are unambiguous: workers at scale told a different story than auditors sampling 2.5% of the population. Essential reading for any organisation navigating CSDDD, Modern Slavery Act reporting, or OECD Responsible Business Conduct obligations.

HP Supply Chain HRDD
Direct Worker Voice in Electronics Manufacturing

HP, a global electronics brand, used MillionMakers™ to gather baseline HRDD data directly from 950 workers across three supplier factories in Malaysia, generating over 70,000 data points in under a month. Workers responded anonymously via their own smartphones, with no intermediaries, no coaching, and no supplier interference. The dataset was compared against six Responsible Business Alliance Validated Audit Reports from the preceding two years. Where audits claimed conformance, workers told a more complex story and identified specific issues for targeted remedy.

Farmer-Owned Drone Data
Agri-Tech Data Rights Case Study

When Drone Seva provides precision spraying and land mapping services to small farmers, the data generated, farm boundaries, crop details, yield, goes into the service provider's database, not the farmer's hands. Bluenumber® changed that. By giving 44 farmers self-sovereign identities and Personal Data Vaults before their drone service appointment, every data point created during service delivery went directly to the farmer. Bluenumber subsidised the drone cost and licensed a copy of the dataset, paying farmers INR 1,056,000 in total. Every participating farmer said they would use other digital services without hesitation if they could keep their data.

Ethical Data Sourcing for ESG Claims
Sahyadri Farms Case Study

Sahyadri Farms, India's largest Farmer Producer Organization, needed data to substantiate claims of sustainability and no forced labour. Using MillionMakers™ and Bluenumber® self-sovereign identity, Sahyadri engaged 76 factory workers and 213 farmers, collecting 10,674 data points via smartphones in 30 days. Workers and farmers owned all data they created and were paid INR 144,500 in licensing fees.

The result: a verified, consent-based dataset that supports Sahyadri's ESG claims to buyers, certifiers and investors, without exploiting the people who produced it.

Farmer Data Ownership & Self-Sovereign Identity
885 Farmers, India

Can smallholder farmers create, own, and earn from their own data? Bluenumber® partnered with Farmer Producer Organizations across India to equip over 1,000 farmers with self-sovereign identities (SSIs) and Personal Data Vaults. 885 farmers across 10 FPOs and 11 states generated 16 data points each on crops, farm conditions, and sustainability indicators, earning INR 85,500 in licensing income for data they own and can re-license at will. A proof-of-concept for data equity at the base of agricultural supply chains.
